On 5th February 2026, Local Officers were made aware of a suspicious male around the Maybank area of Newcastle-under-Lyme. Between the hours of 15:20 and 18:00, Staffordshire Police received multiple calls regarding this a who had been loitering in a resident's garden for over 30 minutes before ringing the doorbell asking to be let into the property. A similar call was received a short distance away where the same male appeared in the occupants garden and repeatedly asked to be let into the property. Local Officers attended to search the area but the male was not located. He is described as a white male, early 30s, wearing a blue padded coat, a beanie hat and trainers. Officers are keen to speak with this male to establish his intentions and address any welfare concerns. We have obtained extensive CCTV and doorbell footage in order to identify the male and enquiries are ongoing. We would like to remind all residents to keep their doors and windows locked when away from their properties, and please do not answer the door to strangers.
